Two dogs hanged from a tree in Rhodes

On Monday 8th March, 2 dogs were found hanged from a tree in Afandou on the Greek island of Rhodes. The decomposed body of another dog was found laying nearby.

The two dogs were hanged because they were said to be attacking sheep! The man responsible is due to appear in court on March 9th to face charges. Greek news programme Kosmos TV covered this latest atrocity which you can watch below.

UPDATE ON COURT CASE - 10th March

The man responsible for this brutal act was given a NINE MONTHS PRISON SENTENCE in the court hearing on 9th March (on Rhodes) and 1,500euros fine. Animal lovers packed out the court room to hear the verdict.

He has however been released on bail and his lawyer has made an appeal. Bail was set at 10,000euros. No date has been set yet for when he will be made to appear at the High Court.
