Welcome to Greek Animal Rescue

Greek Animal Rescue is a UK based registered charity (No:802243) which aims to help the abused, neglected, stray and injured animals of Greece.

GAR was founded in 1989 and works to alleviate the suffering of animals in Greece by supporting a number of animal shelters, sterilising as many dogs & cats as funds allow and finding homes for the lucky few in the UK and several other EU countries.

Greek Animal Rescue aims:
To expand rescue work through the shelters we support
To provide needy animals with necessary treatment and care
To rehome as many animals as possible
To fund spay and neuter projects
To advance public education of animal welfare


SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

We are very sorry to announce that the founder and Director of Greek Animal Rescue, Vesna Jones, aged 60, passed away on May 15th 2014.

After a short spell in hospital, Vesna sadly lost her fight against an illness she had suffered with for many years.

The Trustees will continue to ensure that GAR remains fully functional.

On behalf of Vesna Jones' family and friends, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their very kind comments and for thinking of us during this very difficult time. It means so much to us and we are so grateful for all of your support.

Many people have contacted us wishing to make a donation to Greek Animal Rescue in Vesna's memory so we have set up a fundraising page in her honour, which will help us to ensure that her legacy lives on.
