Welcome to Greek Animal Rescue

Greek Animal Rescue is a UK based registered charity (No:802243) which aims to help the abused, neglected, stray and injured animals of Greece.

GAR was founded in 1989 and works to alleviate the suffering of animals in Greece by supporting a number of animal shelters, sterilising as many dogs & cats as funds allow and finding homes for the lucky few in the UK and several other EU countries.

Greek Animal Rescue aims:
To expand rescue work through the shelters we support
To provide needy animals with necessary treatment and care
To rehome as many animals as possible
To fund spay and neuter projects
To advance public education of animal welfare

Message to GAR supporters who may be wondering why they had not received the Autumn / Winter 2011 Newsletter. The reason is simply that it's not finished yet. Due to increased workload and dealing with numerous calls for help from Greece, work on the newsletter had to be put on hold, but it is hoped it will be ready by the end of January 2012. However, it will be simply called: Issue No. 65. Issue No: 66 will be much shorter, but it will include information about this year's Sponsored Dog Walk, provisionally planned for Sunday 10 June at Trent Country Park, Cockfosters Road, Cockfosters.
