Timo - 2 Euros to save a life

On Monday 3rd August 2009, Jaana (a contact of ours from a shelter on Kos) found a box with 3 small pups outside their gates. She remembered seeing a small pointer male in one of the gypsy camps on the outskirts of Kos town who looked very much like the pups (who was likely to be their father).

Jaana went to the gypsy camp (she tries to keep 'friendly', so she can check up on the dogs) and saw the 'father' - literally covered with ticks! (The gypsies use pointers to hunt HEDGEHOGS. We will spare you the horrendous details of they are killed & cooked!) She spoke with a gypsy boy who said she could have the dog for 2 euros! Jaana took the dog but just as she was leaving she spotted a mother with long tits & no pups.

She made the decision to take the male dog home and return to the camp the following morning to talk to them about the 'mother'. Jaana told them that she had puppies at home who were taken away from their mother too early (without letting on that she knew they were the ones responsible for dumping them in the first place) Consequently Jaana left with the mother who is now also safe.
